Responsibilities
Performs cutting and welding operations on machinery and equipment
Maintains and makes repairs to refuse dumpsters and roll-off containers
Repairs and maintains trash compactors
Delivers and locates refuse dumpsters
Prepares daily route schedules for crew assignments
Prepares daily activity reports
Paints and sanitizes refuse dumpsters
Maintains inventory of dumpsters, containers and compactors
Operates box truck
Prepares daily route schedules for crew assignments
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED plus additional vocational education in welding with one (1) year of flat, horizontal or other welding experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment
Knowledge of welding tools and techniques
Knowledge of the repair and maintenance of solid waste equipment
Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work
Skill in the repair and maintenance of department equipment
Skill in oral and written communication
