Assistant Produce Manager

Responsibilities

Support daily produce department operations while ensuring excellent customer service
Supervise Produce, Salad Bar, and Floral clerks; provide training and ongoing support
Assist in achieving sales, labor, shrink, gross profit, and inventory goals
Maintain product quality, merchandising, organization, presentation, and pricing accuracy
Order products, receive deliveries, and manage inventory levels
Act as department lead in the Produce Manager’s absence
Use store computer systems and ensure compliance with company and food safety policies
Support workplace and food safety initiatives and assist with audits
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally

Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action
Perform stocking, rotation, and merchandising tasks as needed
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Must be at least 18 years old
Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in varying temperatures (coolers, freezers, and standard retail areas)
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and meet physical job demands
Must follow food safety practices and wear required protective equipment

Preferred

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Occasional travel for training or development
