Responsibilities

Administers and coordinates Coastal Wetlands Planning, Protection, and Restoration Act (CWPPRA) project planning and CPRA project development, providing procedural expertise throughout implementation
Develops annual CWPPRA project proposals, reviews Wetland Value Assessments (WVAs), and ensures compliance with CWPPRA requirements and Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan
Represents CPRA on the CWPPRA Environmental Workgroup and coordinates public meetings, including scoping, alternatives development, and environmental impact discussions
Supports the administration of CPRA’s grant matching programs; Conservation and Restoration Partnership Fund and Parish Matching Program
Generates Requests for Proposals for grant matching programs, makes recommendations for grant awards, and manages Cooperative Endeavor Agreements and intergovernmental Agreements
Assists in evaluating the feasibility and benefits of coastal restoration and hurricane flood protection projects
Analyzes and interprets environmental and scientific data
Provides recommendations for the development of the standard analytic techniques
Reviews restoration and protection project proposals and provides recommendations to higher level staff
Prepares technical scientific/environmental reports, briefing packages, speeches, or other presentations on matters related to assigned areas for use by higher level staff in the Planning and Research Division or by higher levels in the CPRA, the Governor’s Office of Coastal Activities, or members of the Louisiana Legislature

Required

A bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: biological sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, environmental sciences, natural sciences, engineering or a related field
