Technical Specialist 1 - HVAC

The Technical Specialist 1 - HVAC Team Lead position is responsible for coordinating maintenance tasks and leading contractors in various systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems for city facilities.

Responsibilities
Reviews incoming work orders from building customers
Assigns duties to vendor employees
Works with customers to ensure work completion and follow up
Contacts vendors for estimates, later coordinates scheduling of work and adherence to safety and security policies
Performs troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of variety of building systems
Performs preventative maintenance tasks through the facilities
Assists in weather and special events pertaining to or conducted on the premises of the facilities
Responds to after hours and emergency requests
Hands on repairs of many systems to include HVAC, building automation systems, lighting, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems
Supervises HVAC contracted vendor employees
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years' experience with HVAC or related systems
Valid Driver License
Candidate must receive and maintain a passing status from the Metro Nashville Police Department background check
All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government
Preferred
EPA Universal Certification
HVAC focused technical school
