Responsibilities
Assist with administration and monitoring of application servers and web platforms, including WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache HTTPD Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle APEX, and Oracle Rest Data Services (ORDS)
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, backups, and configuration changes
Monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization
Assist in troubleshooting application and service issues, escalating as needed
Support application services in Azure App Services and related cloud platforms
Assist with on-premises application server deployments, updates, and monitoring
Work with senior administrators to implement high availability and backup strategies
Participate in SLA-driven, customer-facing managed services
Assist with incident response and problem resolution for enterprise customers
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures
Support operational readiness for new application deployments
Assist with automation and scripting of routine tasks (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
Support monitoring and alerting for application services
Contribute to knowledge base and standard operating procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
2+ years of experience in IT or system administration
Basic understanding of application servers and web platforms (examples: WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache HTTPD Server, Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle APEX, ORDS)
Familiarity with Azure App Services or other cloud application hosting platforms
Basic knowledge of networking, authentication, and access control
Ability to participate in 24×7 on-call rotations
Willingness to learn, follow processes, and work in a customer-facing managed services environment
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python)
Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools
Experience supporting enterprise or multi-tenant environments
Familiarity with DevOps concepts or CI/CD pipelines
