The San Diego Supercomputer Center is seeking a Development Technician 1 to support the research, development, production, and deployment of oceanographic instrumentation. The role involves assisting technical staff with drifter fabrication, managing incoming and outgoing packages, and maintaining warehouse and shop organization.

Responsibilities

Assist technical staff and in support of drifter fabrication
Receiving and processing incoming packages and making available to designated staff
Packaging and dropping off outgoing packages based on direction from designated staff
Sorting and organizing drifter components ahead of greater assembly
Counting discrete inventoried components based on direction from designated staff
General warehouse upkeep as well as shop and studio upkeep

Qualification

Basic computer knowledgeHand tools knowledgeCarpentry tools knowledgeSimple hardware componentsPhysical lifting abilityCommunication skills

Required

Basic knowledge of computers, printers and email communication
Basic knowledge of hand tools
Basic knowledge of carpentry tools
Basic knowledge of simple hardware components (bolts, screws, washers, nuts, etc.)
Ability to interact and communicate with a variety of diverse individuals, including scientists, engineers, vendors, technicians, laboratories and other support personnel
Capable of lifting and carrying up to 75lbs
Valid CA Driver's License
