Accounts Payable Clerk
PEPL is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk for a well-established, family-owned manufacturing company. The role involves supporting financial operations by ensuring accurate posting of payments, reconciliation of customer accounts, and timely resolution of outstanding balances.
Human Resources
Responsibilities
Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions
Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions from lock box and local deposits
Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices
Maintains records by microfilming invoices, debits, and credits
Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers
Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries
Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures
Resolves collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, credit line; coordinating contact with collections department
Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Makes collection calls, portal submission, account reconciliation
Uses efficient communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Qualification
Required
2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or a similar finance role
Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite experience preferred)
Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, basic formulas)
Experience processing invoices, expense reports, and vendor payments
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally with vendors and internal departments
