Financial Analyst

They are seeking a Financial Analyst to manage daily accounting operations, develop financial reports, and streamline financial processes while ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks Pro, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes leveraging our outsourced team
Own project accounting across multiple grants and contracts, tracking budgets, monitoring burn rates, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements
Partner with the CFO to develop financial reports, dashboards, and analyses that inform strategic decision-making
Streamline financial processes and implement best practices using Bill.com and other financial tools
Support annual audits, budget development, and financial forecasting activities
Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and processes that increase efficiency and accuracy
Analyze current and past financial data and performance to make recommendations and create dashboards
Consistently analyze financial information based on both routine and ad-hoc reports
Interpret financial data to recognize changing trends, patterns, and their meaning related to key performance indicators
Communicate financial insights suggesting business issues to management
Own payroll administration across geographies, ensuring accurate, timely processing and compliance with local employment, tax, and statutory requirements
Partner closely with People and leadership to administer compensation changes, including salary adjustments, promotions, bonuses, and new-hire setup
Maintain compensation records and ensure alignment between payroll systems, HRIS, and financial reporting
Support annual compensation review cycles by preparing payroll impact analyses, cost scenarios, and reconciliation of approved changes
Ensure accurate tracking and processing of benefits, stipends, and other employee-related payments in coordination with People and Finance
Serve as a key operational partner during performance and compensation cycles, ensuring approved decisions are implemented cleanly and on time
Qualification
Required
You have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
You are highly proficient in QuickBooks Pro (desktop or online) and have hands-on experience with day-to-day accounting operations
You have working knowledge of Bill.com for payment processing and vendor management
You have strong experience with project accounting, ideally in a grant-funded, contract-based, or consulting environment
You understand GAAP principles and can maintain clean, audit-ready books
You are an Excel power user with strong analytical skills and the ability to create meaningful financial reports and dashboards
You have strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in everything you do
You are proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Preferred
Have experience in healthcare, public health, or nonprofit accounting
Are familiar with federal grant accounting (OMB Uniform Guidance)
Have knowledge of indirect cost rate calculations and allocations
Can bring experience with other financial systems or ERP platforms
Have experience supporting the People function
