Aircraft System Engineer

Insight Global is seeking an Aircraft Integration Systems Engineer to support the development and integration of systems for a missionized Gulfstream G550 platform. The role involves requirements development, system design, verification and validation, and liaising with internal and external teams to influence changes in practices and processes.

Responsibilities

Helping develop aircraft system requirements: Concept of Operations (ConOps), system specifications, component specifications, and system schematics
Assisting with verification and validation activities such as: creating test plans, creating test procedures, physically operating the system to perform ground and flight testing, writing certification reports
Supporting technical publications by providing source data and reviewing publications such as: system operating manuals, maintenance manuals, instructions for continued airworthiness
Supporting periodic travel for Technical Interchange Meetings, Program Reviews, Testing, and Aircraft Field Support
Experience with some or all of the following: encrypted communications, flight deck missionization, Emissions Control (EMCON), and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Proficient communication skills (verbal, written, slide presentations)
Proficient technical writing skills (specifications, procedures, reports)
Performing hands-on testing and troubleshooting of aircraft electrical and mechanical systems; requires climbing and crawling on the aircraft in confined areas to perform job duties
Understanding and supporting the aircraft certification process (Civil : 14 CFR Part 25; Military: MIL-HDBK-516)
Interpreting and using aircraft technical documentation such as: system schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, aircraft technical publications, Standards (MIL, SAE, RTCA, 14 CFR, etc.)
Helping to create bids and writing proposals
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
Able to travel up to 10%
Read and interpret technical specifications, engineering blueprints, test procedures, and technical publications

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering field
Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer
Minimum of Secret clearance
Ability to define, manage and test requirements
Aircraft integration experience on business jets
Working knowledge of encrypted communications
Working knowledge of flight deck missionization
Working knowledge of Emissions Control (EMCON)
Working knowledge of Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)
