Business Development Manager
Midwest Insurance Company is seeking a Business Development Manager to represent the company to independent retail agencies within their identified territory. The role involves maintaining and growing profitable agency partnerships, developing new agency partners, and ensuring accurate representation of the company's services.
Responsibilities
In person interaction with current agency partners in order to maintain and grow profitable writings
In person interaction to develop and appoint new agency partners in order to maintain and grow profitable writings
Use appropriate entertainment methods to maintain and build agency partnerships with owners, principals, and producers
Continually grow knowledge of Midwest’s billing, claims handling, loss control, auditing, and underwriting functions to ensure that representation of Midwest is timely and accurate and any problems are handled effectively and efficiently
Answer questions from agencies and handle any complaints
Attend trade shows representing Midwest
Qualification
Required
Strong self-motivation and equally strong work ethic
Ability to work independently and as a team
Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred
Some college course work
5+ years' sales experience building and maintaining agency partnerships in an insurance setting
