Responsibilities
Strong communication and client service skills. Considerable tact and diplomacy are required. Ability to work with veterinarians, team members, clients, and patients in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner
Ability to courteously and professionally interact with all staff - including DVMs and all support staff, as well as communications with clients
Utilize the computer system to accurately and timely enter and retrieve records and reports, enter fees, charges, communications and maintain the database
Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions in order to fulfill the requirements of this position
Perform general physical activities that require bending, standing, stooping, moving from room to room, sitting, talking, and listening; may be required to walk or stand for long periods of time; will use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; will reach with hands and arms
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
Qualification
Required
A warm and friendly, outgoing personality is required
Effective multitasking is required
Familiarity with the use of a computer, including the use of email and the internet
Willingness to effectively learn Cornerstone
Adept at handling multiple phone lines
Knowledge of hospital procedures outlined in the employee manual as well as those that are implied (reasonable expectations)
Knowledge of spelling and the meaning of commonly used veterinary terminology in order to accurately enter specific information onto patient records
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
Excellent communication and client service skills, including tact and diplomacy
Respectful and ethical behavior and performance
Willingness and ability to be a team player with the entire staff
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
Understand and carry out oral and written directions

High school graduate or GED
Preferred
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred
Familiarity with Cornerstone is a plus
