Responsibilities

Provide management, configuration, administration, implementation, and optimization of storage devices throughout the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS) Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) network
Manage technologies and processes to maximize and improve the performance of data storage resources throughout the organization on JWICS
Use storage management technologies such as replication, mirroring, and security to help improve the reliability and availability of data storage on JWICS
Configure storage in conjunction with the Records and Information Management (RIM) Division in accordance with laws, regulations, Department of Defense (DoD) policies, and Inspector General (IG) Instructions
Provide support for data storage systems on the JWICS network
Engineer and implement networked file systems such as Network File System (NFS) or Common Internet File System (CIFS) on JWICS
Allocate storage to Windows servers on the JWICS network
Design, plan, and implement storage strategies for JWICS infrastructure
Provide storage planning, data management, and disaster recovery planning best practices and testing for JWICS
Perform installation, configuration, and integration of filers with Windows and Linux environments on JWICS
Provide backup, recovery, and archiving of data on JWICS systems
Perform and enable controls to ensure the virtual infrastructure security posture is in compliance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and DoD OIG regulations
Set up and monitor performance monitoring and capacity planning for JWICS storage systems
Document incidents using the OIG ticket tracking system and create and publish knowledge base articles for government approval when applicable
Maintain existing and, when required, create new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in support of storage management operations on JWICS
Monitor storage utilization, performance, and capacity on JWICS and proactively address issues
Configure and manage storage area networks (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) in the JWICS environment
Implement and manage storage tiering and data deduplication technologies on JWICS
Perform storage system firmware and software updates following established change management procedures
Troubleshoot and resolve storage connectivity, performance, and availability issues on JWICS
Coordinate with virtualization specialists for storage allocation and management in virtual environments on JWICS
Implement and maintain storage security controls and encryption technologies on JWICS
Develop and maintain storage system documentation including configuration guides, disaster recovery procedures, and capacity planning reports
Support storage migration and consolidation projects on JWICS
Configure and manage snapshot and replication technologies for data protection on JWICS
Monitor and manage storage backup systems and ensure the successful completion of backup operations on JWICS
Perform storage capacity forecasting and planning for future growth on JWICS
Ensure all storage solutions are in compliance with DISA STIGs, DoD, and OIG policies and standards for TS/SCI systems
Follow all OIG Change Management and Engineering Review processes and ensure changes are completed according to the project and release manager schedule
Work with the OIG Project Management Office (PMO) to establish and meet project milestones to ensure all solutions meet documented customer requirements and are within project scope
Support the OIG PMO and Enterprise Architect (EA) during requirement analysis to develop technical solution options for JWICS storage infrastructure
Provide technical support and guidance to system administrators and users for JWICS storage-related issues
Maintain strict adherence to all Sensitive Compartmented Information security protocols and procedures
Meet OIG established service level metrics and performance standards for JWICS storage operations
Travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) and the National Capital Region (NCR) may be required to attend meetings, conferences, and training

Required

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, or a related technical field
Minimum of 7 years of experience in storage administration, storage engineering, or IT infrastructure management
Extensive experience with enterprise storage systems (Storage Area Networks, Network-Attached Storage)
Experience working in classified environments, specifically with Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information systems
Experience with JWICS (Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System) network operations and support
Experience with storage technologies including SAN, NAS, and direct-attached storage (DAS)
Experience with Network File System (NFS) and Common Internet File System (CIFS) implementation and management
Experience with storage allocation and capacity planning
Experience with backup and recovery technologies and procedures
Experience with storage replication and disaster recovery solutions
Experience with storage performance monitoring and optimization
Experience with Windows and Linux storage integration
Knowledge of Department of Defense Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and compliance requirements for TS/SCI storage systems
Experience with change management and engineering review processes in classified environments
Strong documentation skills and ability to create technical documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and capacity planning reports
Experience working in a government or DoD environment with classified systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail required for classified operations
Excellent communication skills and ability to provide technical support and guidance
Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance

Preferred

Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level I or higher certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M guidance (Security Plus, GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar)
Storage vendor certifications (EMC, NetApp, Dell, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Pure Storage, or similar)
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) - Data Center Virtualization
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or later certification
Experience with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Service Provider (JSP) Data Center environments
Experience with enterprise storage platforms (EMC VNX, EMC Unity, NetApp FAS, Dell Compellent, HPE 3PAR, or similar)
Experience with Fiber Channel and iSCSI protocols
Experience with storage virtualization technologies
Experience with data deduplication and compression technologies
Experience with thin provisioning and storage tiering
Experience with VMware vSphere storage integration (VMFS, NFS datastores, vSAN)
Experience with storage encryption technologies
Experience with backup solutions (Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, CommVault, or similar)
Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for storage systems
Experience with storage automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python)
Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) vulnerability scanning for storage systems in classified networks
Experience supporting multiple classification levels (JWICS, SIPRNet, NIPRNet)
Experience with cloud storage technologies and hybrid storage solutions
Project management experience and ability to serve as Project Lead for storage initiatives
Master's degree in computer science, information systems, information technology, engineering, or a related technical field
Multiple storage and virtualization certifications
