Responsibilities
Maintain departmental compliance with company policies and procedures and ensure departmental adherence to U.S. Department of Transport laws and regulations & other applicable laws and regulations including ELD’s and IFTA UCR Filing, Updating MCIR, maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection, & set up and manage driver files
Manages the transformer service fleet primarily while assisting smaller fleet groups in GT SV by purchasing and maintaining vehicles, assuring proper licensing of fleet vehicles and annual vehicle/trailer inspections, managing fuel Cards, scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection, ensuring strict servicing and maintenance times to minimize downtime and maintain schedules, approve needed repairs within 2 hours of request, Conducts audits to ensure all required documentation is accurately completed (including ELD’s, IFTA, preventative maintenance logs, pre/post-trip inspections, certifications) and that items are installed correctly with a minimum potential for loss
Setup new drivers in the SE system and give driver orientation and training
Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles as well as manage driver compliance
Review, maintain and share any/all records or reports pertaining to driver safety, maintenance, and damage with Owners
Ensures the proper scheduling of truck maintenance and repairs; along with compliance of all company programs, including preventative maintenance and inspection of vehicles, non-scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting, repair, rebuild and overhaul of vehicles
Schedules and arranges pickup and delivery of critical tools and equipment
Qualification
Required
2+ years in a fleet role preferred
CDL Driver preferred
Knowledge of applicable state and federal DOT laws and regulations
Strong technical knowledge of commercial truck system components
Physically capable of inspecting vehicles, climbing in and out of semi-trucks
Detailed mechanical skills &/or knowledge of diesel vehicles
Understand vehicle systems, mechanics, and technology sufficiently to authorize repairs and accurately evaluate
Outstanding organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Finance and accounting literacy
Good leadership skills to motivate, guide and inspire a team of Drivers
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
Competency with PC skills, including email, internet, data entry into on-line tools, MS Word, & Windows based software
