Finance Director

Responsibilities
Develop and monitor annual agency budgets, providing analysis and guidance to program managers and executive leadership
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and year-end basis
Manage the external annual audit by serving as the primary liaison with auditors, preparing and coordinating all required schedules, documentation, and follow-ups to support a timely and successful audit
Supervise and develop the finance team, including AP, AR, and Billing, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Manage grants, contracts, and funding agreements, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of resources
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as non-profit accounting standards
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
Actively participate in finance workgroups and meetings at the local and state level to stay abreast of changes in all programs the center is involved
Actively oversee and perform core financial functions, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, fee-for-service billing, and financial reporting
Prepare journal entries, financial reports, and supporting schedules
Maintain, reconcile, and balance all QuickBooks general ledger accounts
Directs the operations of the Revenue Cycle to ensure that accounts receivable is collected timely and uncompensated care is kept to a minimum
Develop, implement, and optimize Front-End Revenue Cycle processes to support revenue integrity and operational efficiency
Verifies all funds received by the agency are deposited in bank account(s) daily
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible financial management experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and non-profit financial regulations
Experience managing billing and accounting teams, with excellent leadership and mentoring skills
Proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools, and advanced Excel or financial modeling applications
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Commitment to the mission and values of a community mental health organization
Preferred
Experience with non-profit, healthcare, or governmental accounting strongly preferred
