Senior CNC Machinist/Programmer
Empire Group is a mission-critical prototyping and low-volume manufacturing partner serving defense, aerospace, medical, and advanced technology customers. They are seeking a Senior CNC Programmer / Machinist to play a key role in building and scaling their CNC operation, involving programming, troubleshooting, and executing complex machining tasks.

Responsibilities
Program, set up, and run CNC mills (and lathes if applicable) in a prototype / low-volume environment
Take parts from print to finished component, including CAM programming, proving programs, and first-article execution
Interpret complex prints with tight tolerances and GD&T
Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies appropriate for one-off and short-run work
Troubleshoot machining issues, optimize processes, and adjust programs as needed
Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean, organized work environment
Collaborate with engineering, additive, and finishing teams to deliver complete solutions
Help improve CNC workflows, documentation, and best practices as the department grows
Qualification
Required
5+ years CNC machining and programming experience (prototype experience strongly preferred)
Strong CAM programming experience (SolidCAM / SolidWorks or similar)
Deep understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, materials, and setups
Confident reading and interpreting GD&T
Comfortable working independently and making judgment calls
Pride in craftsmanship, quality, and doing things the right way
Willingness to help shape and improve how CNC is done at Empire
