Sr. Network Engineer

Cityside Fiber is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Network Engineer to lead their Network Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing and implementing network elements in city-wide fiber networks, ensuring a world-class fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service.

Responsibilities

Design and implement core/distribution network architectures for FTTH, DWDM, and Dark Fiber operations
Commission data centers and configure network POP locations
Develop procedures for network equipment software upgrades and testing
Research and integrate emerging technologies to enhance network performance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve company objectives
Work in and contribute to an atmosphere of trust and integrity with fellow employees to ensure the overall success of Cityside Fiber
Understand and uphold Cityside Fiber’s core purpose and values and be passionate about what we do

Qualification

Network Engineering experienceBGPOSPFIS-ISIBGPCisco Certified Network AssociateCisco Certified Network ProfessionalDWDM network designCustomer service skillsOrganizational skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of Network Engineering experience in a telecom/ISP environment
Certifications: Network+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Expertise in BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and iBGP routing protocols
Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
Exceptional customer service and relationship-building skills
Valid driver's license

Preferred

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher
Experience designing DWDM networks and dual-homed ISP architectures
Supervisory experience in field operations
Knowledge of fiber internet market trends and high-availability KPIs
