Responsibilities
Manage the development, filing, and protection of patents, trademarks, and copyrights
Develop and enforce protocols to maintain the company’s trade secret system
Advise on strategies to protect proprietary technology and data
Support fundraising efforts, including venture capital (VC) due diligence, term sheets, and equity agreements
Structure legal frameworks for financing through REITs and private equity funds
Draft, review, and negotiate shareholder agreements, bylaws, and other governance documents
Draft and negotiate labor contracts, outsourcing agreements, and construction contracts
Develop standardized templates for agreements with contractors, vendors, and strategic partners
Ensure compliance with local and international laws governing contracts
Provide counsel on employment law and HR policies, including onboarding, labor disputes, and terminations
Advise on risk management and liability issues in the construction and technology sectors
Oversee compliance with industry regulations and corporate legal obligations
Advise leadership on legal implications of business strategies and operational decisions
Collaborate with external counsel as needed for specialized legal matters
Stay current on legal trends and changes impacting the robotics, construction, and real estate sectors
Qualification
Required
Education: J.D. from an accredited law school
Minimum 5–7 years of legal experience, including startup, corporate, or intellectual property law
Experience with VC financing, IP filings, and trade secret protection is highly preferred
Familiarity with real estate and construction law is a strong advantage
Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently in a dynamic, high-pressure startup environment
Preferred
Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
