Responsibilities
Lead the Migration: Transform complex legacy logic from Oracle into clean, modular, and performant dbt models
Architect Looker Foundations: Design and build the LookML layer (Models, Explores, and Views) from the ground up to empower self-service across the organization
Finance-Grade Engineering: Implement rigorous change management and audit controls, ensuring our financial reporting is accurate, traceable, and compliant
Strategic Decision Making: Act as a technical consultant on SQL development strategies, including the thoughtful integration of AI tools to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality
Stakeholder Partnership: Interface with NYC-based leadership to translate business objectives into technical data products
Qualification
Required
5–10 years of deep experience with relational databases and complex data ecosystems
Expert-level proficiency in SQL, dbt, and Looker
Background in the Finance domain, understanding the unique requirements of auditability and data integrity
Ability to articulate the 'why' behind data modeling choices
Thrive in high-stakes environments
Ideally based in the New York City area for occasional onsite collaboration
Preferred
Experience with architecting scalable, audit-ready data environments
Experience in transforming complex legacy logic from Oracle into clean, modular, and performant dbt models
Experience in designing and building LookML layers (Models, Explores, and Views)
Experience implementing rigorous change management and audit controls
