Responsibilities
Expertly oversee underwriting operations, ensuring timely, accurate processing of new business and renewal submissions while maintaining compliance with all regulations
Coach and support underwriters, provide co-signs for guideline adherence, facilitate ongoing training and development, adjust workloads for optimal flow, and set clear performance goals for team members
Establish and refine processes to maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness
Serve as key liaison for claims reviews, DOI complaints, reinsurer communications, and vendor management related to underwriting
Lead underwriting audits, enforce best practices, and actively participate in strategic projects and committee meetings
Qualification
Required
Over five years of P&C Commercial underwriting experience, preferably with exposure to leading teams
Advanced skills in underwriting systems and data feeds
Strong business acumen, analytical decision-making, and resilience, thriving in fast-paced environments and adapting to evolving challenges
Emotional intelligence, fostering collaboration, providing meaningful coaching, and building strong relationships across teams and partners
Confident communication with executive leadership and peers, leveraging polished presentation skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite and key business software
A college degree and/or insurance industry designation(s)
Legally authorized to work in the United States
