Procurement Analyst
Medasource is seeking a Senior Buyer who independently manages complex procurement activities for goods and services. This role involves negotiating pricing, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting organizational objectives related to cost, quality, and supplier diversity.
Responsibilities
Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels with suppliers; resolve supplier performance issues and identify new sourcing options
Draft, execute, and manage purchase orders, purchase agreements, Statements of Work (SOWs), RFQs, and related documentation using standard and custom templates
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop specifications, manage demand against contracts, and support implementation of systemwide agreements
Perform cost and value analyses; review contract terms and conditions; recommend awards based on cost, specifications, and risk
Provide analytical support for complex procurement initiatives, including development of advanced spreadsheets and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with University procurement policies and procedures; interpret and apply policies as needed
Evaluate and prepare sole-source justifications and basis-for-award documentation
Maintain documentation of procurement processes and interpretations for internal and supplier use
Support and/or provide guidance to junior buyers or purchasing staff, as assigned
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or commodities management
Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex purchasing options
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with spreadsheet and word-processing tools
Ability to exercise sound judgment in routine and high-pressure situations
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
Experience using ERP or financial systems (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Banner)
Ability to read and interpret contract terms and conditions
Procurement experience in a healthcare environment
Knowledge of organizational operations and departmental procurement needs
CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) certification
