Senior Director Workplace Strategy and Real Estate

Responsibilities
In partnership with the VP of Workplace and Workplace LT sets our global Workplace strategy, aligning long-range planning, capital investment, and location decisions with business growth, workforce strategy, and financial objectives across each region
Partners with senior stakeholders across the organization to update and operationalize our global Workplace strategy and communicate plans to the team and stakeholders
Provides expert strategic guidance for the team's portfolio of regional and/or global real estate activities. Drives the execution of regional strategic long-term plans and delegates resources needed to accomplish the plan
Provides expert strategic guidance to ensure the execution of strategy in partnership with global and regional leadership
In collaboration with our Director of Eng and Sustainability, defines our Sustainability Strategy in alignment with our enterprise-level commitments
Drives development of long- term strategic plans based on reporting information (e.g., market reports) at a regional level, identifies trends, and provides strategic recommendations
Leads complex, high-value real estate transactions, including sale-leasebacks, portfolio restructurings, ground-up developments, acquisitions, dispositions, and M&A-related integrations
Oversees highly complex portfolios of global real estate activities by guiding teams in evaluations, selection, development, and management of real estate transactions
Oversees all stages of transactions (e.g., letters of intent, contract negotiations)
Drives the development, negotiation, documentation, and approval of complex acquisition agreements, business cases, and deal summaries
Collaborates with legal teams and ensures contracts are created with LinkedIn's' best interest. Serves as a role model for team members by ensuring on-time delivery and contract completion
Partners with internal and external stakeholders to build an aligned strategy
Utilizes business intelligence and data to positively influence a wide range of senior stakeholders
Serves as a point of escalation to resolve highly complex issues
Determines cash flow impacts, accounting implications, capital vs. operating expense trade-offs, balance sheet implications, and ROI analysis to inform executive decision-making and optimize capital allocation
Drives the execution of the regional and/or global budget
Presents business cases for budget approval. Socializes the budget and impact with key senior stakeholders
Drives timely updates to budgets by forecasting costs and updating spending targets in partnership with the Finance team and senior leadership
Drives budget planning, forecasting, and tracking for facilities in collaboration with finance stakeholders
Drives the development and implementation of innovative solutions, process updates, and optimizations to drive operational efficiency
Ensures leases are enabled, verifies real estate is up to date, and maintains its competitive status with other real estate competitors
Develops Real Estate Strategy and works to ensure Real Estate projects/initiatives are aligned with greater Workplace and LinkedIn strategy
Qualification
Required
15+ years of experience in corporate real estate or a directly related field OR Bachelor's Degree in business management, real estate, finance, project management, or related field AND 12+ years of experience in corporate real estate or a directly related field OR equivalent experience
8+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct reports
Preferred
7+ years with project and/or program management
7+ years of experience with financial modeling
7+ years of experience working in the technology industry
7+ years of experience working in a large, multinational corporation
