PROGRAM MANAGER EQUITY AND ENGAGEMENT

Albuquerque Public Schools is seeking a Program Manager for Equity and Engagement. This role involves overseeing the operational planning, execution, and evaluation of a grant-funded program, ensuring compliance with policies and managing programmatic funds effectively.

Responsibilities

Manages and oversees the administrative and daily operations of a program, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal policies and regulations
Designs and develops staff development programs for health educators, Safe Zone Coordinators, and other school staff as appropriate
Manages grant; approves and monitors budget expenditures; prepares budget revisions; provides required status reports; oversees, coordinates, and/or assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding
Provides technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program/project activities, as appropriate to program objectives and area of expertise
Ensures project milestones are met
Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating unit
Oversees the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports
Assists in developing teaching materials, handouts, news releases, pamphlets, and brochures
Establishes and implements short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
Collaborates with district departments/schools, programs, projects, and community organizations to consolidate resources and enhance programs

Required

Bachelor's degree in education or related field and five years of progressively responsible experience in grant management and reporting, student, staff and/or family supports, engagement and equity initiatives
Knowledge and understanding of the unique, personal, economic, social, linguistic and cultural backgrounds of Albuquerque Public Schools
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in diverse communities
Ability to build relationships, establish collaborative partnerships, and work with a wide range of constituents with diplomacy and tact
Knowledge of/experience with family and community outreach and engagement practices
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
Ability to provide technical coordination and management of projects in area of expertise
Program planning and implementation skills
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Knowledge of contracts and grants preparation and management
Knowledge of management principles and practices
Ability to train employees and/or create training programs
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of budget preparation, cost estimating, monitoring, and fiscal management principles and procedures
Proficient with word processing, database and spreadsheet software

Preferred

Master's degree or advanced training in an education related field and/or 5 years of progressively related experience in student, staff and/or family supports, engagement and equity initiatives
Advanced training and/or demonstrated years of experience in one or more of the following: (1) research/evaluation; (2) training and instructional design/support; (3) grant management; (4) report writing
Demonstrated years of progressive experience developing collaborative partnerships and building relationships with students, staff, families and community constituents
