Responsibilities

Partner with Accounting team and Accounts Payable team to support in weekly or monthly tasks following controls and standard operating procedures
Update and create financial reporting focusing on automated processes for continued use
Analyze month-end results and summarize values and explanations for significant variances compared to historical actuals and forecast expectations
Contribute to monthly reporting package updates provided to department leadership
Partner with finance to help analyze commercial functions’ spend and manage expenses to Budget
Support financial forecast and prioritization processes
Ad-hoc accounting and finance projects
At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization

Required

Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum GPA 3.0
Returning to academic program at a credentialed institution for at least one semester post-internship
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel
Ability to make logical and sound decisions and to know when to act independently and when to seek assistance

Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary, to fulfill obligations
This role is based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office
