Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals
Lead tax planning and advisory engagements, including entity structuring, multi-state considerations, and year-round tax strategies
Conduct advanced tax research and provide technical guidance on complex issues
Assist with IRS and state tax audits, notices, and client representation
Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, managing expectations and maintaining long-term relationships
Supervise, mentor, and train junior and mid-level tax staff
Review tax returns and workpapers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with firm standards
Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and performance guidance to team members
Assist management with workload planning, deadline management, and resource allocation during peak seasons
Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
Maintain deep knowledge of firm policies, workflows, and technology
Contribute to process improvements, documentation, and internal training initiatives
Stay current on tax law changes, regulatory updates, and industry trends
Fulfill continuing professional education (CPE) requirements
Qualification
Required
Active CPA license (REQUIRED)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
5+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in small or mid-sized CPA firms
Demonstrated experience reviewing work and leading or mentoring a team
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and planning
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English (both required)
Proficiency with tax software (UltraTax preferred)
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
Preferred
Experience with complex individual returns and closely held businesses
Prior client-facing advisory or account ownership experience
Exposure to multi-state and international tax issues
