Research Senior Associate
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a leading institution in cancer research, and they are seeking a Research Senior Associate to assist and support the center for antibody therapeutics. Responsibilities
Perform advanced in vitro and in vivo techniques including molecular biology skills such as: DNA, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, etc; production, purification and characterization of antibody, antibody drug conjugates, bispecific antibodies, CAR-T, CAR-NK and general cell culture skills such as mammalian and bacterial cell growth, etc; protein biochemistry such as antibody and protein purification, chromatography, SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunostaining, in vitro assays and development, ADCC, CDC, IncuCyte or RTCA cytotoxicity assays, biacore or other SPR assays, etc; and small animal skills such as tail vein, intraperitoneal and subcutaneous injections of cancer cells and tumor xenografts into mice to generate animal models of cancer and of therapeutic agents for experimental therapy, small animal in vivo imaging, etc
Collect, analyze, and interpret research data; assist with development and implementation of new methodologies
Collaborate with principal investigator to write manuscripts, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals; assist with the development and preparation of grant proposals to obtain outside funding in support of research; conduct critical analysis of research literature related to research being investigated
Monitor and enforce laboratory safety procedures; ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations
Train research staff and manage daily laboratory operations, including procurement and equipment maintenance
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's Degree required, Doctor's degree in biological or health sciences strongly preferred, or equivalent experience
1 year of relevant experience required with Master's Degree, 3 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree
Ability to translate and apply academic knowledge in biological/health science research
Experience in antibody/protein, chromatography or antibody-based research capacity required
Strong analytical and communication skills
