Responsibilities
Prepare electrical studies including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, grounding, and arc-flash analysis:
Develop electrical system models in SKM and ETAP
Write technical reports summarizing results from electrical model analysis
Correctly interpret results and make appropriate recommendations
Participate in electrical field surveys to gather information for electrical model creation
Apply knowledge of electrical engineering to create electrical studies, produce detailed electrical design drawings, and evaluate existing electrical equipment
Understand best power distribution design practices and relevant codes and standards
Implement requirements from NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
Proven experience with SKM software, formal SKM training is a plus; proven experience with ETAP software
8+ years of experience with electrical design, construction, and/or commissioning of building, facilities, and industrial complexes
Very strong experience and abilities in written communications and lucid report writing
Experience with or ability to become a project lead
Field experience working in and around various commercial buildings and industrial facilities
5+ years of experience working with NEC, IEEE, and NFPA standards related to short-circuit, arc flash, and protective devices
Experience with electrical safety, lockout/tagout, arc-flash, and electrical codes
Excellent problem-solving, technical, and analytical skills
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on detail-oriented and proficient documentation
Effective teamwork abilities
Ability to travel to project locations throughout the United States for 1 to 5 days approximately every other month
Strong problem solving, technical, math and science skills
Preferred
Professional Engineering (PE) License
Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit is a plus
