Responsibilities
Oversee the revenue accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue transactions and accounting for sales commissions
Develop and implement revenue recognition policies and procedures in compliance with relevant accounting standards
Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close processes, including the preparation of management reporting
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, sales operations, and deal desk to ensure alignment on revenue-related matters
Lead, mentor, and develop the revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and performance
Monitor and analyze revenue trends, identify potential risks, and opportunities for improvement
Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements related to revenue accounting
Support external audits and reviews, providing necessary documentation and explanations for revenue-related inquiries
Drive improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the revenue accounting function
Work closely with pricing and packaging teams to ensure revenue recognition aligns with evolving product offerings and pricing structures, facilitating smooth integration of new initiatives into accounting processes
Partner with the product team to assess the revenue impact of new features and product launches, ensuring accounting practices are proactively aligned with evolving business strategies
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards, providing recommendations for adjustments to revenue recognition practices
Qualification
Required
BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
10+ years of relevant work experience
Proficiency in ASC 606 and strong understanding of US GAAP
Has experience leading a team
