Supervises 4 accounting technicians
Timely and accurate processing of invoices, grant payments and employee expense reimbursements for the department
Setting account payable policy, developing procedures and providing training to department staff
Researching, analyzing and solving problems related to NCFS payments
Compliance with policies and procedures of State Controller, State Budget, and the department
Communication with internal and external parties concerning payment status and processing
Tracking and reporting payment timeliness and analyzing trends to improve performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or other curriculum that would provide a core curriculum in financial management coursework from an appropriately accredited institution
Associate's degree in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and three (3) years of accounting or auditing experience
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four (4) years of experience as an accounting technician, three of which must have been at an advanced technical level
An equivalent combination of education and experience
Supervises 4 accounting technicians
Timely and accurate processing of invoices, grant payments and employee expense reimbursements for the department
Setting account payable policy, developing procedures and providing training to department staff
Researching, analyzing and solving problems related to NCFS payments
Compliance with policies and procedures of State Controller, State Budget, and the department
Communication with internal and external parties concerning payment status and processing
Tracking and reporting payment timeliness and analyzing trends to improve performance
Preferred
Knowledge of IRS 1099 reporting requirements
Experience with the North Carolina Financial System (NCFS) is preferred but not required
