Responsibilities
Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary design team (design consultants, contractors, and subcontractors), including day to day communication
Report to Project Manager and support the completion of multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines
Coordinate with clients and consultants and assist in general administration
Produce site civil plans, design calculations, technical specifications, construction details, stormwater reports, cost estimates, and other technical documents. Elements may include stormwater, hardscape, water, and wastewater/septic design, as well as incidental structural design if skillsets allow
Support bidding processes and provide construction administration services (observation of work, field reports, review of submittals, etc) as required to ensure work performed by contractor is in compliance with contract documents
Travel to project sites as needed (primarily within New York State), occasionally with some overnights
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Structural Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited school
Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification in New York State or equivalent
Experience with site construction projects, including civil engineering, landscape architecture, and stormwater design/management
Proficiency in site civil design/landscape architecture and permitting, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and applicable local and state permit applications
Knowledge of codes and standards applicable to design of projects
Knowledge of general construction principles, techniques, and procedures
Strong analytical, administration, and written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Revit, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with staff and consultants
Demonstrate dependability, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
Demonstrate organized and self-motivated execution of responsibilities
Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver's license in good standing
Ability to access all areas of project sites and conduct physical evaluations of site and facilities
Proof of US citizenship or permanent resident status
Preferred
Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience
Experience with modeling using HydroCAD, WaterCAD, or other hydraulic/process modeling software
Experience preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) in NYS
Familiarity with public sector clients (state, municipal)
Experience taking projects through construction phases to project close-out
