The New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Psychologist for its Forensic Division at the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute. This role is essential for conducting competency evaluations for the judicial system and involves comprehensive assessments, psychological testing, and participation in treatment planning.

Responsibilities

Complete comprehensive competency assessments
Complete evidence-based psychological testing
Participate on the interdisciplinary treatment team
Actively contribute to treatment planning and provide feedback to behavioral health therapists and social workers
Testify in court as needed

Required

Licensed by the New Mexico Board of Psychologist Examiners
Three (3) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field above licensure requirements and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) years may substitute for the required experience
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing
Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background checks and is conditional pending results
Must successfully complete post offer pre-employment criminal records background check

Preferred

Experience in forensic psychology
Experience in completing competency restoration evaluations
Experience in psychometric testing and report writing
Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team
Experience testifying in court
