Procurement Specialist

Responsibilities

Execute procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services supporting drilling, production, facilities, and maintenance operations
Source qualified vendors and contractors, including Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs) and local suppliers, in alignment with company and regional objectives
Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs), and purchase orders
Evaluate bids based on cost, quality, delivery, compliance, and operational risk
Support contract negotiations for goods and services, including master service agreements (MSAs) and long-term supply contracts
Monitor vendor performance, pricing, and service levels; resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues
Maintain strong working relationships with domestic and Alaska-based suppliers
Coordinate logistics for remote and Arctic operations, including North Slope and offshore locations
Plan procurement activities around seasonal access (ice roads, marine transport, weather constraints)
Ensure compliance with transportation requirements, including hazardous materials (HAZMAT), DOT regulations, and the Jones Act where applicable
Ensure procurement activities comply with: Company procurement policies and ethical standards, Federal and state regulations (e.g., EPA, BSEE, BOEM, ADEC), Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready procurement records
Enter and manage purchase orders in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Track spend, delivery performance, and cost savings initiatives
Prepare procurement reports and support budget forecasting

Required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
(Equivalent experience may be considered)
3–5 years of procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in oil & gas, energy, mining, or heavy industrial environments
Experience supporting remote or field-based operations
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract terms, and supplier management
Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Preferred

Experience working in Alaska or other remote / Arctic environments
Familiarity with North Slope operations and logistics
Experience working with Alaska Native Corporations (ANCs)
Knowledge of oilfield materials, drilling equipment, MRO supplies, and technical services
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar certification
