Analyst - Data Management

Responsibilities
Partner with Data Product Owners, Data Stewards, and Engineering to implement enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards across Snowflake and other strategic data platforms
Define and maintain critical data elements (CDEs), data dictionaries, business glossaries, and metadata in governance tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra), ensuring consistency and traceability from source to consumption
Establish and monitor data quality rules, profiling, and scorecards; triage quality issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive remediation with owning teams
Implement and maintain end-to-end data lineage (e.g., via Manta, Collibra) to improve transparency, impact analysis, and control effectiveness for reporting and analytics
Support risk management and compliance initiatives by documenting data controls, evidencing control performance, and aligning to regulatory obligations and internal policies
Collaborate with Analytics and BI teams to ensure governed, curated data is used appropriately; provide guidance on data usage, definitions, and compliance constraints
Contribute to the design of curated data layers and data domains with an emphasis on governance requirements (ownership, quality thresholds, retention, access classifications)
Administer and enhance governance workflows for issue management, change requests, and stewardship approvals; track governance KPIs and produce dashboards and status reporting
Participate in Agile ceremonies; refine governance-related user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria; prioritize work based on business-critical risk and compliance needs
Leverage SQL and metadata tools to validate data definitions, perform profiling, and support lineage mapping; collaborate with engineering on remediation plans when needed
Stay current with data governance, quality, lineage, and observability trends; recommend improvements to tooling, processes, and operating models
Qualification
Required
1+ (year) of relevant experience required; 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or risk/compliance preferred
Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields: Information Management, Data Management, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills; comfortable facilitating across business and technology teams
Hands-on experience with data governance and catalog/lineage tools (e.g., Alation, Collibra, Manta) and data quality/observability solutions
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases; familiarity with Snowflake, Oracle, or SQL Server; ability to profile data and validate quality rules
Understanding of data management principles, governance operating models, stewardship, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality practices
Awareness of risk and compliance requirements relevant to financial services data (e.g., data privacy, retention, access controls, control testing)
Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) and collaboration in Agile environments
Reporting experience (Power BI/Tableau is a plus) and proficiency in Excel for status tracking and metric reporting
Familiarity with Python/DBT is a plus for metadata extraction, data profiling, or lineage support, though this role is governance-focused rather than engineering-focused
