Advanced R&D Engineer/Scientist- NMR

Responsibilities

Develop methods to identify and characterize new molecules, mixtures, and polymers
Write documentation for methods developed and transition methods from a small scale to a production environment
Work with customers to meet needs in a fast-paced environment
Work on a variety of projects across multiple disciplines simultaneously
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to integrate new materials into product designs
Guide and support the professional development of junior team members, providing advice and insights into industry best practices

Required

Master's or PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
1 to 3 years of spectroscopy-based analytical characterization of materials and/or fluorine products
Work in a research environment
Demonstrated experience using 1D NMR experiments with 1H, 13C, 19F, and 31P nuclei
Experience to maintain and trouble-shoot NMR instruments
Demonstrated experience with analytical characterization using FTIR spectroscopy techniques
Experience in trace and bulk analysis
Due to compliance with US export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a US person, which is defined as, a US citizen, a US permanent resident, or have protected status in the US under asylum or refugee status

Preferred

Demonstrated capability of specialized NMR experiments with focus on DEPT, HSQC, (1D/2D) NOESY and 2D COSY methods
Method development skills
Excellent written communication including writing SOPs and JSAs
Experience working within large groups of engineers and scientists
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to ensure a high level of scientific rigor is applied to all projects
A passion for scientific curiosity and creativity
An open, honest, and team-oriented personality
Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work, with a positive attitude and desire to acquire new skills quickly
Experience in a fast-paced environment
Reliable and trustworthy with highest ethical standards
Experience with LIMS
Understanding of industry standards and security practices
