Calvert County Government is seeking a personable and dynamic individual to be the first point of contact for visitors at the Northeast Community Center. The ideal candidate will engage with people of all ages, manage front desk operations, and handle class registrations and membership processes.

Responsibilities

Operates the front desk area of Recreation Center
Performs operations from established guidelines or instructions. Work requires independent thought and the ability to adjust to changing environments
Supervises the front desk area
Processes class registration
Processes membership cards and fees
Operates cash register, opening, close-out, etc
Assists with the preparation of financial and attendance reports
Answers telephone
Responds to inquiries for information or assistance
Interprets and explains rules and regulations; reports violations
Staffs special events as required
Performs related work as required

Qualification

Customer service experienceBasic computer operationRegistration softwareFirst Aid certificationCPR certificationPublic service practicesBuilding operation proceduresInterpreting rulesRegulationsDealing effectively with the public

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Two years experience working in a customer service-oriented position
Knowledge of public service practices
Knowledge of building operation procedures
Knowledge of basic computer operation
Ability to maintain cash and reports
Ability to interpret rules and regulations and apply to situations
Ability to operate basic computer software
Ability to deal effectively with the public
Ability to operate registration software
Availability for evening and weekend shifts is required
Subject to background investigation if employed in the Department of Parks and Recreation

First Aid and CPR certificates preferred
