Pipe Stress Engineer
NESC Staffing is looking for an experienced Mechanical or Structural Engineer to support the design and execution of complex energy and industrial projects. The Pipe Stress Engineer will focus on piping, structural systems, and pressure part design, collaborating closely with internal teams, vendors, and customers to deliver reliable power and energy solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and analyze piping systems, ductwork, skids, pressure parts, structural frames, and supports
Develop load calculations and load diagrams for equipment, ducting, and steel structures
Ensure structural integrity, code compliance, and constructability of all designs
Perform site assessments to support accurate piping and ductwork layouts
Build and modify 3D analysis models for new and existing designs
Clearly communicate analysis results through reports, marked-up drawings, sketches, and presentations
Manage and technically review outsourced engineering work, including schedule, scope, and deliverables
Review drawings, bills of material, and designs for compliance with codes, standards, ISO procedures, and customer requirements
Support project schedules, proposals, and estimating efforts
Interface directly with customers, consultants, and cross-functional teams as needed
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in piping, ductwork, pressure part, or related design
Strong experience interpreting boiler layouts, piping drawings, isometrics, pipe supports, and P&IDs
Working knowledge of: ASME BPVC Section I, Section XIII
Working knowledge of: ASME B31.1 / B31.3
Working knowledge of: AWS D1.1 / D1.3 and ASME Section IX
Hands-on experience with STAAD.Pro and AutoPIPE or CAESAR
Navisworks experience, including model integration and clash detection
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
PE License
Preferred
Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering
