The Senior Residence Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of residential programs serving people with developmental disabilities, providing leadership and ensuring quality care and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Set the course and direction of the residential programs under his/her supervision
Provide a setting that offers the highest level of care to persons served and ensures that all individuals receiving services are treated with the utmost respect
Take a proactive approach to services and care, always seeking new ways to assist individuals to reach their fullest potential
Advocate appropriately and professionally on behalf of program participants, as required
Ensure the smooth and effective functioning of the Program Planning Team process throughout assigned programs
Ensure ongoing optimum level of quality in the areas of health and safety, sanitation, and nutrition. Ensure that program participants are clean and safe at all times
Ensure that no program participant is inappropriately left alone or unsupervised at any time
Conduct regular observations of services, as well as periodic observation of community inclusion activities
Ensure that appropriate community inclusion and recreational activities are occurring on a regular basis for all residents
Ensure the appropriate reporting, review and follow-up of all incidents, including allegations of abuse and neglect and serious reportable incidents, within mandated timeframes
Be available on-call 24 hours a day to handle emergencies and/or other issues requiring immediate guidance and intervention.When necessary, perform DSP duties (supervision, medication administration, medical appointments) when shortages of staff may impact service delivery.Ensure that a comprehensive program of in-service trainings is in place for all staff and that each new staff member receives all appropriate on-site training utilizing the residential training checklist
Ensure that appropriate staff supervision occurs on a regular basis (monthly individual supervision and quarterly performance evaluations) and that annual staff performance evaluations for all program staff are completed and submitted to Human Resources within the mandated timeframe
Ensure that programs meet and exceed all regulatory standards and that program staff follow all state and federal regulations
Ensure that programs satisfactorily pass both internal HeartShare surveys and OPWDD surveys/audit and that no 45 or 60 day letters are issued
Ensure that all program operations are within budget and submit all written reports and documentation on a timely basis
Oversee the personal finances for each person served and ensure timely completion of all transactions, record keeping, review and sign-off in compliance with regulatory standards
Ensure that the physical plant is properly maintained and that the monthly physical plant checklist is conducted and complete
Attend appropriate external trainings and workshops, and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid and SCIP, as required
Participate in both internal and external committees, work groups, and professional/consumer organizations, as assigned, including monthly cluster meetings, quarterly managers’ meetings, and periodic residential managers meetings
Provide professional supports to peers as needed and requested
Act as a liaison and ambassador for HeartShare to neighbors, parents, advocates and the public at large
Undertake any additional tasks within the scope of the role and initiatives as assigned by supervisor or program management

Required

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred)
Minimum two years supervisory experience in a residential program
Five years' experience in developmental disabilities or related field
