Responsibilities

Assist in developing and optimizing various characterization methods
Analyze and interpret data
Read literature applicable to research and analysis as required
Record instrument data, tabulate data, and keep detailed laboratory records
Perform method robustness and qualification studies
At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization

Required

Undergraduate or graduate candidate pursuing a BS, MS or Ph.D. degree in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline
General knowledge of drug product development
Previous research/lab experience with analytical chemistry, data management and data analysis software
Ability to conduct and interpret scientific experiments, providing suggestions for additional experiments
Self-motivated to execute with limited supervision and direction
Troubleshoot instrument, identify and solve elementary problems in experimental designs
Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Competencies: Written and Verbal Communication, Teamwork & Collaboration, Attention to Detail, Self-Starter, Analytical skills, Problem Solving, Organizational skills, Adaptability, Professionalism
Position may require periodic evening work, as necessary to fulfill obligations
Must be able to lift 25 lbs or more
Adequate vision (corrected or uncorrected) to read fine instruments such as calipers, instrument displays, etc., and perform visual inspection for defects
Position works with potentially hazardous chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients
This role is based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office
