Responsibilities
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization
Verify proper general ledger accounting through account analysis and reconciliation
Assists and completes entries required for monthly and year-end close
Calculate, book, and reconcile commissions monthly
Book and reconcile fixed assets and software capitalization
Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Completes monthly invoicing and related reporting
Reconciles assigned accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
Performs all Accounts Payable functions including entering and coding invoices, managing approvals, and submitting payments
Assists the Controller with the annual Financial Audit as well as other miscellaneous audits (401k, AR, etc.) by gathering and preparing requested support materials and financial statements?
Assists with filing tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize projects and assist where necessary
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
Ability to accurately prepare tax reports
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field, required
3+ years of related experience required
Must have the ability to read and understand various process flows and procedures
Strong internal and external communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be willing and able to work a 5-day schedule and additional hours beyond regularly scheduled shift to cover vacancies, if necessary
Must be able to sit or stand for two hours at a time
Must be able to operate computers and phones to support position requirements
Strong Microsoft Office Skills are a must
Preferred
1+ year experience in the healthcare or insurance industry strongly preferred
