Security Intelligence Technical Business Analyst

The California Franchise Tax Board is seeking a passionate and tech-savvy Security Intelligence Technical Business Analyst. In this role, you will collaborate with security professionals to enhance applications and technology solutions, ensuring the protection of taxpayer information and the smooth operation of business processes.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team of dedicated security professionals to support and enhance FTB’s applications and technology solutions
Develop effective alerts, rules, and system enhancements to ensure data security and smooth business operations
Evaluate FTB's External Monitoring Team (EMT) business needs and collaborate with internal and external entities
Conduct research, analysis, and write detailed business requirements and system requirements
Present recommendations to enterprise-wide teams and perform final client acceptance and quality assurance (QA) testing before changes to EMT technology systems are released
Work with staff of all levels and technical abilities enterprise-wide and adapt to changing priorities

Required

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to learn and embrace new technologies
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and complete tasks and assignments
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Collaborate and work with internal and external stakeholders
Develop and maintain operational procedures and guidelines
Perform research to solve complex problems and to troubleshoot production issues
Customer service experience
Knowledge and experience of IT systems in respect to security hardening and defense
Experience using and supporting security tools
Experience developing and implementing alerts, dashboards, and metrics in tools like Splunk
Experience with developing and supporting data models to uncover new insights
Experience with reviewing and responding to cybersecurity and/or information security alerts
Experience in security data analytics
Experience developing scripts or applications to automate processes
Experience of a CyberSecurity/Information Security role, such as: security event and log analysis, security data analysis and modeling, security incident response, etc
Experience in identifying and responding to fraudulent activity and scheme
Knowledge of FTB systems (such as Taxpayer Folder, EASE, etc), FTB's publicly facing applications (such as CalFile, Refunds, MyFTB, etc), infrastructure, and IT processes or procedures
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study
