20+ years expFortegra is seeking a Senior Accountant specialized in Reinsurance Operations. The role is primarily responsible for preparing reinsurance statements, conducting general ledger reconciliations, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements and other accounting functions.

Responsibilities
Prepares assigned ceded and assumed monthly and quarterly reinsurance statements and completes reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of the reported numbers for assigned accounts
Monitor all losses for attachment to corporate treaties and request cash calls as needed
Assist in the preparation of Schedule F quarterly/annually
Assist and provide reinsurance knowledge for system implementation
Responsible for monitoring reinsurance trust accounts and letters of credit to ensure all related statutory companies receive proper reserve credit
Responsible for ensuring accurate excess reinsurance accounting, including the payment of reinsured premium and the proper recovery of claims
Assist with other assigned special projects as needed
Compiles, completes, and prepares reinsurance reconciliations to be able to provide data for Reinsurance contract renewals
Assists with corporate budgeting and forecasting responsibilities, to include but not limited to preparing Reinsurance Forecasts
Respond to client requests and issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
20 or more years of experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting practices or related experience
Knowledge of assumed and ceded reinsurance
Experience working with an automated reinsurance system
