Summer Youth Program Leader (East Palo Alto)

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) is the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering youth with equitable access to opportunities. They are seeking dynamic Summer Youth Program Leaders to facilitate enriching academic projects and activities for elementary or middle school youth, fostering positive relationships and engagement.

Responsibilities

Innovate, execute, and guide captivating and interactive enrichment projects and activities for classes of approximately 20 students
Deliver an enjoyable and hands-on outdoor play curriculum
Dedicate daily preparation time to organizing materials, reviewing lesson plans, and gearing up for the next day's activities
Apply effective classroom management techniques and behavioral coaching strategies to foster a positive learning environment
Provide support during meal supervision, recess, and other student activities
Attend mandatory orientations, training sessions, and team meetings
Enforce and adhere to all health and safety protocols

Qualification

K-8 youthClassroom management techniquesCommunication skillsPositive reinforcementFlexibility in fast-paced environment

Required

At least 18 years of age
Strong communication skills
Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement
Flexible in navigating a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Prior experience working with K-8 youth
