Unix Support Engineer
Russell Tobin is seeking a Unix L3 Specialist to support the firm’s critical UNIX infrastructure. The role focuses on production support, stability, automation, and collaboration with engineering and business teams.
Responsibilities
Provide L3 SRE and on-call support for critical UNIX infrastructure
Perform proactive health checks, risk & compliance activities
Support incident, change, and outage management
Collaborate with engineering teams to certify new hardware/software
Onboard new UNIX systems and support datacenter expansion initiatives
Qualification
Required
6+ years of enterprise Unix/Linux (Red Hat) administration; Solaris exposure preferred
Strong experience in incident & change management
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, monitoring, patching, and OS upgrades
Scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Python)
Strong troubleshooting, automation mindset, and communication skill
Preferred
Red Hat Linux certification
Infoblox DDI, Veritas Cluster/Volume Manager
Ansible, OpenShift, Kubernetes
Financial services experience
Bachelor's degree preferred
