TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER FOR THERAPY SERVICES

LOGAN Community Resources is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Training and Development Manager will focus on recruiting, training, and supporting Behavior Technicians in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) protocols, working closely with clients and BCBAs.

Responsibilities

Interview, recruit, and onboard potential new staff
Provide initial staff training in conjunction with supervising BCBA/QBHP
Provide ongoing staff training related to implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis
Become certified instructors for CPR, First Aid, and Safety Care
Participates in all required training activities including, but not limited to: The fundamental principles of ABA, discrete trial teaching techniques, management of problem behaviors, child development, and data collection techniques applicable to the clients on the Behavior Technician’s caseload
Provide training, direction, and feedback to staff on the implementation of all programs and behavior plans after consulting with BCBAs and/or the clinical director
Communicates with supervisory staff on a regular basis
Arrives promptly at service location and engages in productive work activity until the end of the assigned shift
Required to be scrupulous in respecting the confidentiality of the client and his/her family
Work as a team member to develop and enhance the services provided by LOGAN. Maintains a cooperative and respectful relationship with all staff and management
Provides information to the accounting department needed for billing for services provided with accuracy and within the designated time frame
Demonstrates cultural competency in providing consistent high-quality services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultural circumstances
Assist with the development of training materials
Work with other staff members to ensure the center is safe and is a health environment. Report housekeeping and/or maintenance needs as they arise
Work with clients in home-based settings when necessary
Will be responsible for supervising staff as assigned, including (but not limited to) handling timecards, disciplinary issues, and annual reviews
Upon request, assist with materials development as needed for each client as determined by BCBA/QBHP, and submit to BCBA/QBHP for approval in a timely fashion
Provide formal feedback to staff using a standard observation and feedback form as assigned by the BCBA
Upon request, implements 1:1 instructional and behavioral intervention programs with all assigned clients following the ABA treatment plan developed by a BCBA
Observes and records child’s behavior and progress on goals as indicated by the BCBA
Provide assistance during the arrival and departure of clients, as needed
Accurately completes daily documentation of services provided as required for billing
Participates in meetings regarding the client’s ABA program
Maintains a professional relationship with the family at all times, refrains from sharing personal information about self or others. Does not share complaints about employer (LOGAN), redirects family to supervisory personnel when family expresses concern about LOGAN services
Maintain a professional relationship with trainees, provides support, information, and repeated training as needed
Maintains professionalism when staff share concerns, supporting the staff, and gaining information to help solve or elevate concern, when needed please direct staff to his/her supervisor
Responsible for the health & safety of individuals served
Represent LOGAN in a positive way in the community
Serve as an advocate & protect the dignity & human rights of individuals served
Willingness to work a 40-hour per week schedule
Serve as an example for staff in terms of good employee practices, including (but not limited to) excellent attendance and strict adherence to LOGAN policies

Required

Bachelor's degree preferred
RBT level certification
Strong knowledge/experience working with individuals with ASD required
Minimum of One year of experience running ABA programs required
Two years of experience working at LOGAN preferred
Experience in developing and conducting staff training
Excellent ability to communicate with families and other professionals
Thorough working knowledge of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
Ability to sit & use computer keyboard
Ability to kneel, bend, & reach
Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day

Preferred

Two years of experience working at LOGAN preferred
Registered Behavior Technician strongly preferred
