Responsibilities
Write complex SQL queries to extract, analyze, and report data from various sources
Develop scripts and automated workflows to scale accounting data, reconciliations, and reporting
Leverage analytics, AI tools, and prompt engineering techniques to build intelligent data workflows for forecasting, anomaly detection, and continuous financial monitoring
Integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized system for easier access and analysis
Monitor data quality, identify data inconsistencies, and implement corrective measures to ensure accuracy and completeness
Optimize SQL queries and pipelines for performance improvements and scalability
Provide regular reporting and ad hoc reports to management and other departments
Participate in or lead data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
Communicate technical and non-technical concepts effectively, bridging Revenue Operations, Accounting, and Data Engineering teams to ensure alignment and shared understanding
Partner with Accounting to facilitate month end close reporting and analysis
Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies in data management, AI, automation, and applied analytics
Qualification
Required
Desire to grow as a data and automation professional, combining an investigative mindset with technical skills in SQL and Python
Initiative to troubleshoot complex, ambiguous problems and break it down into clear, actionable actions
Strong working knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets for financial and operational analysis
Hands-on experience with Google App Script and Looker (or comparable BI tools)
Experience working with payment processor data (e.g. Square, Braintree, Afterpay) and order management ERPs (e.g. BigCommerce, NetSuite, Shopify)
Ability to work collaboratively across different functions and diverse personalities
Desire to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Experience with financial reporting, GAAP, and/or double-entry bookkeeping
Preferred
Experience with SQL, Python, and Looker (or similar analytics tools)
Experience building automated workflows or scripts for accounting and financial processes
Exposure to AI tools, prompt engineering, or applied analytics for business process optimization
