Responsibilities
Lead transmission planning studies, including steady-state and dynamic system analysis
Perform large-scale simulations of transmission systems supporting renewables and storage integration
Produce high-quality technical reports with clear conclusions and recommendations
Work in small, expert project teams delivering work on time and on budget
Develop automation scripts to improve modeling efficiency and accuracy
Support proposals, project planning, and client engagement
Deliver occasional on-site consulting or training (≈10% travel)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
5+ years professional experience in the electric power industry (consulting, utility, ISO/RTO, national lab, etc.)
Strong experience with transmission system planning or operations
Hands-on expertise with tools such as PSS®E, TARA, TSAT, and/or PSCAD
Deliver occasional on-site consulting or training (≈10% travel)
Preferred
Master's or PhD strongly preferred
Exposure to MISO and/or SPP footprints preferred
Prior power system consulting experience is a strong plus
