Responsibilities
Serve as the Operator of Record for Class I water and Class I wastewater treatment facilities
Act as a lead worker, coordinating the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure compliance with all Ohio EPA regulations
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of workforce planning and employee training
Knowledge of lead work practices, safety standards (MSDS, chemical spills, confined spaces, respirators)
Knowledge of agency policies and procedures related to treatment operations
Knowledge of EPA standards, permits, and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of bookkeeping and record management
Knowledge of water/wastewater system operations
Skill in operation of hand and power tools, vehicles, and specialized equipment (turibidimeters, colorimeters, analyzers, pH meters, DO meters, SCBA, gas monitors, etc.)
Skill in transcription of electronically recorded data
Skill in use of personal computers and electronic monitoring systems
Skill in general maintenance tasks (welding, mowing, snow removal, equipment operation)
Ability to understand complex technical concepts and interpret detailed technical materials
Ability to apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in operational calculations
Ability to perform data analysis, collect and classify information, and prepare accurate reports
Ability to work cooperatively with staff on group projects
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
Minimum Qualifications: Class 1 Wastewater Operator License (Ohio EPA)
Minimum Qualifications: Class 1 Water Operator License (Ohio EPA)
Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver's license required to operate a state vehicle
