Responsibilities
Provide direction and support to Graphic Designers, videographers, and production artists, as well as outside contractors
Develop original design solutions, with strategy for implementation and execution. Use creative design to help solve complex messaging challenges on packaging, point of purchase materials, displays, and presentation materials, and maintain any current brand guidelines
Support sales, marketing and product management with designs including but not limited to packaging, sell sheets, presentation templates, displays, catalogs, photography, digital, motion & static assets, trade show artwork and other needs
As needed revise existing package designs when product information or branding message changes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategy and communicate with appropriate individuals and departments concerning project updates, changes, timelines and deadlines
Work with the team to drive adherence with the proofing and approval process in Lytho Workflow
Research packaging and multimedia tactics are being used in the pet industry and in other related industries to stay on top of emerging trends, and document findings for reference and strategy development
Proof all/applicable artwork from printers and vendors. Supervise production of color print work for best quality on POP labels, packaging, and sales support literature
Research and recommend cost-effective production alternatives for each project and management of the creative production process, from timeline development to finished materials and work with vendors to gain multiple print quotes per project to ensure the lowest costs possible
Attend and prepare for department meetings. Come prepared to discuss current projects, challenges, ideas, and bring solutions forward to help drive timely & high-quality project completion
Participate in project management meetings
Lead outside designers, photographers and other vendors in a productive and professional manner
Seek continuous improvement opportunities in project workflow and process management
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (BFA) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school
8 years related experience working in graphic design in a consumer goods environment, brand, agency, manufacturer
Strong working knowledge of 4 color process and digital printing
Preparation of artwork for process printing & digital delivery for the ecommerce channel
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must have systematic analytical skills
Competent knowledge of Current Apple OSX platform
Adobe Creative Cloud
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience and knowledge with AI, 3D, video & motion software a plus
Valid state driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance
Ability to stand for extended periods while designing or using computer
Ability to occasionally stand and walk
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
