Senior DevOps Software Engineer
Confidential is seeking a Senior Software Developer with strong expertise in SQL and data-driven system design. This role focuses on designing reliable, scalable data systems and translating real-world business processes into well-structured technical solutions.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain relational database systems supporting high-volume, operationally critical workflows
Write, maintain, and optimize advanced SQL logic , including:
Complex joins and aggregations
Common table expressions (CTEs)
Window functions
Stored procedures and functions
Design database schemas that balance:
Data integrity and accuracy
Performance and scalability
Reporting and analytical needs
Analyze and improve database performance through:
Query tuning
Indexing strategies
Execution plan analysis
Implement data validation, controls, and safeguards to ensure consistency and traceability
Translate business and operational requirements into clear data models and system logic
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine workflows and improve system usability
Document database structures, assumptions, and logic to support long-term maintainability
Contribute to technical standards and best practices across data-centric systems
Qualification
Required
7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on SQL-based systems
Advanced SQL proficiency, including: Strong command of complex queries and relational logic, Experience writing and maintaining stored procedures and functions, Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and optimize slow or complex queries
Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar
Solid understanding of: Relational data modeling, Normalization and denormalization strategies, Indexing and query performance considerations
Experience working with large datasets in production environments
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Self-directed, with the ability to take ownership of systems and follow work through to completion
Preferred
Experience integrating SQL-centric systems with: Web applications, APIs or backend services, Reporting or business intelligence tools
Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Python, C#, Java)
Experience in operational, logistics, inventory, or finance-adjacent systems
Familiarity with version control, code reviews, and structured development practices
Interest in improving processes and system design, not just implementing requirements
