Responsibilities
Act as primary backup for billing processes, invoice billing
Handle collections of outstanding payments from customers, assist in resolving billing issues and customer discrepancies. Collaborate with other departments as needed
Act as key point of contact for complex payment posting issues
Create and monitor accounts receivable aging reports and take appropriate action to ensure timely collections. Resolve any billing discrepancies as needed. Ensure monthly statements are going out to customers
Create and monitor pending sales reports and take appropriate action to ensure timely billing by reaching out to operations team and others as necessary
Act as primary backup for account payable processes, subcontractor invoicing
Reconcile monthly AP accounts and monthly Credit card statements. Reconcile accounts monthly, to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
Maintain accurate records of all receivable and payable transactions and ensure proper documentation
Prepare and present regular reports on accounts receivable status and performance metrics to senior management including monthly collections forecast
Assist with payroll taxes, and processing of payroll as needed
Help with yearly reports, 1099’s, W-2’s and any other end-of-year projects
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance the internal control environment
Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and employees
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
Assist in the implementation of our new Accounting and Payroll systems
Special projects as needed, participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required
Qualification
Required
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Strong Microsoft Office Suite experience, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated ability to lead a team
Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting is desired
Preferred
Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks Desktop, preferred
Accounting experience in a telecommunications environment is desired
