Benefits and Payroll Coordinator

Law Practice
Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time using ADP
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Manage payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, bonuses, and deductions
Coordinate final pay calculations and off-cycle payrolls as needed
Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries
Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and audits
Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement plans, FSA/HSA, and commuter benefits
Manage employee enrollments, changes, and terminations, including COBRA administration
Serve as primary point of contact for benefits vendors and brokers
Conduct annual open enrollment, including employee communications and system updates
Assist employees with benefits questions, claims issues, and leave-related benefits (PFL, STD, LTD, FMLA)
Ensure benefits compliance with ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and other applicable regulations
Maintain accurate employee data across payroll, and benefits platforms
Support system integrations between ADP and benefits vendors
Assist with audits and ensure proper documentation is maintained
Provide responsive, confidential support to employees regarding pay and benefits
Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll and benefits
Partner with HR leadership on policy updates, process improvements, and employee communications
Qualification
Required

3–7 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration (law firm or professional services experience a plus)
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and benefits compliance
Hands-on experience with ADP or similar HRIS/payroll systems
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
